Yoga for a Cause Movement
Classes are live via Zoom platform every Sunday. To sign up for classes email me directly here.
I created #yogaforacausemovement after realizing that I needed to find new ways to make a positive impact and contribution, and help bring awareness into important issues that we are all facing around the Globe. This Virtual Togetherness is a donation-based LIVE yoga class where 100% of the proceeds go directly to a chosen organization that makes a difference in peoples lives. This class is an opportunity to take care of your body and spirit, while cultivating connection and supporting affected communities during such difficult times.
I'm honored to announce that Yoga for a Cause is expanding and evolving, as a few more beloved yoga teachers decided to join the movement! I'm thrilled to introduce Jenna and Ashley that are now part of our team, and we will be teaching classes in a rotating system.
Miss Ashley is teaching a vinyasa flow on Sunday 23rd at 4pm ET. The proceeds from her class will go directly to The Loveland Foundation.
"Loveland Foundation is committed to showing up for communities of color in unique and powerful ways, with a particular focus on Black women and girls. Our resources and initiatives are collaborative and they prioritize opportunity, access, validation, and healing."(https://thelovelandfoundation.org/)
On Sunday August 30th, I will be offering our Yoga Togetherness for Yoga for a cause with a very special yoga sequence, for a very special local organization. This asana sequence follows the recommendations of the master yogi and teacher Bishnu Ghosh -the younger brother of the yogi and guru Paramahansa Yogananda (Yogananda was the first major Indian teacher to settle in America, in 1920). I will be sending 100% of the proceeds from #yogaforacause to Smile Together (Smile Together was created by one loving family and one eager team to expand the reach and influence of the Cleft & Craniofacial Center at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.)
Smile Together's Mission~
To provide an equal opportunity and comprehensive services to all cleft and craniofacial patients, despite background, culture or ability. To advance cutting-edge research so that the best techniques and treatment can be created and validated. To educate healthcare providers so that equivalent cleft and craniofacial services can be provided world-wide. To promote awareness in order to eliminate stigma and empower people with a cleft and craniofacial background.
"IT IS OUR GOAL TO MAXIMIZE RESULTS AND MINIMIZE THE NUMBER OF SURGERIES IN A CHILD’S LIFE. SMILE TOGETHER REINFORCES OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH TO CARE AND FOCUSES ON POSITIVE EXPERIENCES TO CREATE CONFIDENCE THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME."
-Jeffrey Marcus, M.D., Chief of Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery, Duke University
I am honored that people from all over the world (Italy, Brazil, NYC, Seattle, Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina) have joined us and practiced together while supporting other communities.
I am beyond grateful for your energy, commitment, generosity, and support. Thank you!!
